The evening was a sell-out, and a complete success. Christine spoke for 80 minutes, and was most entertaining.

An astonishing 9 new members to our Society were enrolled on the evening, and others can take advantage of the offer we made on the evening as part of our celebrations:
Any potential new member who attends our next regular meeting on Tuesday 17th October, and pays their £10 membership fee, will pay no further fee until January 2019.
In other words, they will enjoy the last three months of this year for Free........other than the usual £1 all members pay when attending a meeting.
As a major part of our Golden Anniversary celebrations, we are to have the pleasure of a visit from Lancashire's favourite gardener, Christine Walkden.
She may live further south these days, but Myerscough College is where she learned her trade, before moving to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.

Christine has presented on BBC's Gardeners' World and various other TV and Radio shows, and has lectured nationally and internationally.

More recently she has presented BBC's Glorious Gardens from Above, series, visiting various gardens in a hot air balloon! This series won The Royal Television Society Awards 'Best Daytime Television Series 2015'.

At 7.30pm on Tuesday 19th September, 2017, Christine will appear at St. Andrew's Church Hall, Tulketh Road, Preston PR2 1ES where she will present her talk:   "The Life and Times of a Gardener"

Tickets will be £12 each, including refreshments, and will be available from early in 2017.
