 Preston Gardening Society
Preston Gardening Society was formed 50 on the 28th September 1967, as the "Preston Gardening, Floral and Houseplant Society', and meets at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Tulketh Road, Preston. PR2 1ES

In 2017, the Society celebrated it's Golden Anniversary, culminating with  a visit by TV Gardening Celebrity, Christine Walkden, who fascinated a sell-out audience with reminiscences of her life as a gardener.

The object of the society is to promote an interest in gardening and allied activities. We meet regularly on the third Tuesday of each month, with the exception of December, when we hold our annual Christmas Party, and August, when we hold our Summer Show.

Next year the Show will be on Saturday 18th August.

Our meetings are normally opened with an introduction by the Chairperson which includes any relevant notices, reminders for future meetings, trips or shows, and welcoming a speaker.  A question and answer session relating to the talk is followed by refreshments and a raffle.

There is a plant sales table which accepts surplus plants from members to be sold on at a nominal charge; with all proceeds going to support the society.

Membership subscription for 2018 is £10 [ten pounds], with an additional £1 contribution paid upon admission to meetings.  Visitor charge (for non-members) will be £3 per visit.

Refreshments are included in the admission charge.
